| Carol is a national and internationally renowned nurse expert and speaker in High Risk OB, Critical Care OB, Fetal Monitoring, and Patient Safety with over 20 years of clinical experience. She is an active member of AWHONN, AACN, and SCCM, and has Chaired and Co-Chaired Specialist Interest Groups, National Committees and Standards Work Groups. Carol practices at one of the largest labor and delivery units in the country, teaches multidisciplinary CCOB and fetal monitoring courses, and provides risk assessment and reduction consultation to individuals and organizations. Carol is a prolific writer and has authored over 100 publications including books, chapters, and articles on OB topics, and was selected by AWHONN to be an Editor for their upcoming edition of AWHONN’s High Risk and Critical Care Obstetrics. She has been featured in numerous AWHONN educational videos on Advanced Fetal Monitoring and Critical Care OB, and has just completed the new March of Dimes’ Module – Hemodynamic Monitoring of the Critically Ill Obstetric Patient, 2nd Edition. Carol has received multiple awards and recognition for her research in fetal and maternal physiology, and was the only nurse representative on the NICHD Task Force that developed the terminology for EFM. She has a unique presentation style and uses laughter and humor in all her courses. Carol knows from experience the challenges of caring for HR-CCOB patients in labor and delivery units. |
