Formerly an Assistant Professor of OB/GYN at Northwestern University Medical School,Lisa is a renowned expert in fetal monitoring and perinatal safety. Lisa teaches multi-disciplinary fetal monitoring programs, and provides risk management/patient safety consultation to individuals, hospitals and other organizations. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar, an active member of AWHONN currently serving on the AWHONN Board of Directors.Lisa joined Drs. Roger Freeman, Thomas Garite, and Michael Nageotte as the fourth author (and first nursing author) of the classic textbook, Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring 4th Ed.,published May 2012 by Lippincott, Williams, & Wilkins.She is on the editorial board of the Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing,where she currently authors a column on Legal Issues and Risk Management.Lisa is a co-author of the latest Mosby’s Pocket Guide Fetal Monitoring:A Multidisciplinary Approach, and the developer and creator of the ReadRight EFM Ruler.Along with coauthor Dr. David Miller, Lisa has provided “Train the Trainer” sessions for a joint initiative between ACOG District II and the Healthcare Association of New York State, with physician, midwife, and nursing participants from over 90 hospitals.Her new the EFM Workbook provides full sized FHR tracings for review and practice;text available through Lisa’s website: www.prmes.com. Developed as a companion to the Mosby Pocket Guide, the EFM Workbook allows clinicians to develop expertise in application of the NICHD terminology and standardized FHR tracing interpretation.Lisa continues to actively focus on patient safety in obstetrics and brings her extensive experience as a legal consultant to every course, providing a
